This funky sextet revolved around a nucleus of brothers Mike Kenneth and billy, Young from West Virginia, USA. After moving to Orange, New Jersey, they formed the Young Movement with Billy young, an ex-member of Aurra and Dave Reyes (drums). The group changed their name to Flashflood and recorded with Slave and Aurra. When vocalist and sole distaff member Jackie Thomas joined they first recorded as Young & Co. Among the first three tracks they demoed was ‘I Like What You’re Doing’, which helped secure a contract with Brunswick Records. When released, this single reputedly sold over 1,000 000 in the USA alone, . It did, however, go all the way into the UK Top 20 when picked up by the newly formed Excalibur label.
